Women’s Equality Day 2017

Tonight, Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New York, proclaimed August 26, 2017 as Women’s Equality Day in the Empire State. The day commemorates the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Every President from Nixon to Obama has issued a proclamation designating August 26 as Women’s Equality Day.

Along with the governor, we urge the President Trump to continue this proud tradition and proclaim August 26 as Women’s Equality Day nationwide.
